Fatty Patty's closed a couple of years ago, after the building they were in was deemed uninhabitable due to structural damage.  The building was torn down, and a nice new italian restaurant has been built at the location.

The Barbeque (served on the bbq ready tables) is really a fun meal to share with others, and the mix of vegetables that it is served with are pretty enjoyable.  

It's not the fanciest place around, but I look forward to dining there.

When I think of Pizza in Newark, I think of Margherita's Pizza.  There are a number of other local pizza places in town, but this is the one with the best pizza.  The owners of the restaurant are Italian, and this may be the only pizzeria locally where you can hear folks bantering in Italian.    

In addition to pizza, they have a selection of other Italian foods.  The stromboli's are pretty good, too.

One of the friendliest and healthiest places to get a meal in Newark.  They are only open for breakfast and lunch as far as I know (they once had dinner hours a couple of nights a week, and I'm not sure if they still do, but I don't think so.)

The food is always very good, and if you're a pancake fan, their pancake specials are a treat.
